Gnomes are the workers at the center of Roll A Gnome. You obtain them through the rolling system, review them through the current collection or Index controls, and place useful results in your garden so crops can grow. The official description encourages players to roll rarer gnomes and build a stronger garden, but it does not publish a complete roster, rarity table, drop odds, production formula, or duplicate rule.
This hub therefore separates what is visible from what still needs testing. It provides a currently documented gnome index, not a claim that five names are the complete game. Read the live roll result and collection entry before making a spending or placement decision.

The names below were readable in direct Roll A Gnome gameplay checked on August 13, 2026. They are listed as community-observed roster evidence. Their exact rarity, roll chance, crop time, yield, value, and special effect were not reliably readable and remain blank rather than guessed.
How a gnome enters your garden
First, use the current roll interaction and read the entire result. Next, open Gnomes or Index to confirm the name and any displayed rarity or stat. Finally, select an interface-approved garden position and watch whether the gnome appears there. Current footage shows labels and levels over placed gnomes, but it does not establish how levels are earned, what each level changes, or whether moving a gnome preserves every state.
Run one crop cycle before rearranging the garden. Note the crop, visible timer or ready cue, collected quantity, and sale result. If you change two gnomes at once, you cannot tell which change affected output. The Placement Guide uses a one-variable method that works even when values change after an update.
Read rarity from the game
Rarity matters only when the game assigns and displays it. Do not invent a tier from a gnome’s crop name, color, size, or animation. A flashy roll sequence can signal something, but the result label is the stronger record. Capture the exact spelling and rarity text, then check whether Index repeats it.
Public evidence currently does not support a complete ordered tier list or numeric odds table. That means this guide cannot responsibly claim that one documented gnome is common, legendary, secret, or the rarest. The Rarities guide shows how to build a personal comparison from visible results without turning a short sample into a probability claim.
Placement choices that remain useful after updates
Fill confirmed capacity
An open usable position produces nothing. Place a suitable gnome before saving for capacity you cannot use yet.
Change one position
Replace or move one gnome, then compare one complete crop-and-sale cycle.
Keep a reserve note
Record unplaced names and visible rarity so duplicate or expansion decisions are not made from memory.
Separate level from rarity
A visible level is not automatically a rarity tier. Record both fields independently.
How to compare two gnomes
Use the fields your server provides: exact name, displayed rarity, level, associated crop, visible effect, position requirement, and observed output over a complete cycle. Compare under the same conditions. If luck influences only rolling, it should not be mixed into a garden production comparison. If an upgrade changes every plot, record it before attributing the improvement to one gnome.
When a field is absent, leave it blank. “Unknown” is more useful than a fabricated number because it tells you what to test. If the game shows a value only in abbreviated form, record the display as shown and avoid converting it into an exact hidden number.
Duplicates and reserve gnomes
The official description does not explain whether duplicates can be merged, sold, upgraded, equipped together, or exchanged. Current interface evidence is not enough to settle those rules. Before discarding or spending a duplicate, inspect the Gnomes and Index screens for an explicit action and read any confirmation dialog. Never assume a duplicate is worthless merely because the name is already unlocked.
If multiple copies can be placed, compare them as independent workers. If the game introduces merging, record the exact number required, what is consumed, and whether the change is reversible. If no action exists, keep the copy in reserve until your garden expands or the system becomes clearer.
What still needs in-game testing
The complete roster, exact rarity names and order, roll odds, pity or guarantee rules, duplicate handling, gnome levels, production rates, crop yields, sale values, placement capacity, movement restrictions, and special effects remain unverified. The absence of a value here is intentional; these are live-game fields, not missing filler.
Use Rolling before spending heavily, Crops to trace the output side, and Money to compare sale cycles. Together they let you judge a gnome by what your current build actually shows rather than by a static tier-list claim.
Evidence note
The core gnome-to-garden loop is official. The five names and visible placement observations come from current direct gameplay checked August 13, 2026 and are labeled community reported. No numeric rarity, odds, effect, timer, yield, or price was inferred from blurry footage.
